Yes, as a matter of fact we are crazy!

I would like to introduce you to the newest member of our family. Meet Molly.

She is the one in the back, as that dopey face in the front is obviously Rasha. I know what you are thinking, three dogs!! That seems excessive :). It does make for a bit of a hectic house sometimes but we are kind of suckers for pets with sad stories. Molly is a 12 year old cocker spaniel mix. She belonged to a co-worker of Joel's who has had her forever. Unfortunately their toddler is allergic, allergic like dog licks give him hives allergic. So after having her forever they had to find her a new home.
Did I mention she had cancer and only has three legs????
So she has a new home with us. Rasha and Symba seem to be getting along pretty well with her.

Summer!

I can't believe summer is almost over! Every day I get a little closer to moving to NY with Joel :)
These past few months have been hard not having him around. I have lots to keep me busy though. Working on trying to get the house in order to move, learning all the new things I have to learn about my new job. Speaking of new jobs both Joel and I are LOVING our new jobs. I am sad that I am going to have to be leaving mine. I love my unit as well as all the people I work with. It is going really well and I am learning tons!
Some fun from this summer:
Joel and Christopher at the Family Reunion at California.

My Best friend in the entire world is getting married in October! So exciting :). She was down in California from portland for a friend of hers wedding and we went out in San Francisco to celebrate!

My summer would have been so much longer and worse waiting for it to be december if it hadn't been for another of my best friends Jenn!! We had a great time floating down the river and hanging out at my house. I am also excited that she is going to be ONLY 3 hours from Albany when I move to NY

Getting ready to head down the truckee river.

In more exciting news on September 10th I became an Aunt again! My sister Erika who is ALSO 3 hours from Albany (In a different direction than Jenn) Had an adorable little girl.

Meet Rena Susan Warner.

Graduation!

Is coming so fast. It is officially less than two months away. It almost doesn't feel real that in that short of a time we will both be finished with college! I don't think we are going to the actual graduation though. From my experience with graduations it is usually boring and long and often hot. :) However, as a nursing student I do have convocation to go to, which is a graduation ceremony with me and the 46 other nursing students I have gone through school with. That should be lots of fun because I will actually know everyone walking across the stage. All that is left after that is pass NCLEX and hopefully get a job. I had job interviews last week at Renown here in Reno, I think they went well and I should find out next week more information on how they went. I still can't believe it is so close. Joel and I are SUPER excited. Joel of course is SUPER busy as well. He is working sooooo hard this semester, as he has since he went back to school. It is a little crazy, but it will all be worth it come May.

Here is the newest addition to our family, Symba!

It's been a while!

So I just realized that I have not posted a new blog since AUGUST! Okay I am a slacker. Joel and I have been soooo busy with school this last year. However, the end is in sight. We both Graduate in MAY!! Something that we are both so very excited about.
We had a good winter break, even though Joel had to take a winter session class. It was nice to have the time off school, almost 5 weeks for myself and 2 for Joel. Joel as usual has been busy working on school work and programming projects even when he is not in class! I have been enjoying my time off school, studying a little for my liscensing exam and working a bunch. I had a nice visit down with my family in Sacramento for a few days!
In other news we just got a new dog! We adopted him through the Humane Society. Symba is a 4 year old German Shepherd/Rottweiler. He is adorable and him and Rasha seem to get getting along okay. He is very well behaved and housebroken, knows a few commands and does well on a leash. All very exciting for a dog from the shelter. We just have good luck it seems.

Here are some pictures from our recent adventures!

We got a pretty decent amout of snow at the beginning of september! The dogs LOVED IT! Rassha especially loved running around in the snow.

We had a really fun Halloween party! I was a fairy! Joel dressed as Billy Idol, complete with awesome hairdo as well!

CAMPING!

Joel and I went camping a few weekends ago! It was a lot of fun. My dad came and brought Calvin who is the son of a good friend of his and my Mom and sister Elizabeth came as well and brought my nephew Cameron. We had a great time! It was awesome to get a nice little break from school and work :)

You can't tell but its raining in this picture!

Getting ready to go down to the river!

Liz likes to take pictures at strange times. Mouthful of delicous BBQ dinner!

Fourth of July!

We had a great 4th of July. We went for a hike at Donner Lake and then came home and bbq'd some steak. The hike was lots of fun. We went through some of the old train tunnels above the lake that are not in use anymore. It was really cool. You could see the rocks and areas stained from the smoke from the trains passing through. We took the dogs with us and that was a lot of fun. We are still working with Rasha on walking on a leash, but she had a lot of fun.

Joel and the dogs on the Trail. In case you were wondering the other dog is Maggie, she is our new roommates dog, we kidnap her for stuff when her mom is busy.

We came out of this hole in the tunnels and you could see Donner Lake really well, it was such a nice day out!

Joel and the girls in front of one of the tunnels. I was able to catch the two dogs actually sitting still for a picture!!

Sitting and relaxing after the hike having some snacks. Maggie wants some pistachios!

We had a great day hiking and can't wait to do it again.

Update!

Okay so I havn't posted in a while. It has been pretty busy around here for the two of us. School is turning out to be very challenging for both of us this semester and takes a whole lot of our time. We are both loving it though, but still can't wait for the end of the semester, which is in a week! Then we get a whole week off and start again for our summer semester. We are both going to school this summer. My classes are going to be crazy! 17 credits in three months. This last semester was a lot of fun. It was hard, but I have really enjoyed it. I have learned a lot, and seen a lot of interesting stuff as well. Nothing yet that makes me wish I had picked a different career choice so thats a good thing. We are both going to graduate a year from now, which makes it easier to get through it, knowing the end is near... well the end for now :P.

The house is coming along well. Still a TON of work to do on it, but the work we have done has turned out pretty good. I promise I am going to post pictures soon.

The newest member of our family!

Meet Rasha. She is a 2 1/2 year old Border Collie/Lab Mix. We adopted her from a shelter a few weeks ago. Her story is really sad, she was abadoned with a note around her neck in a parking lot as a puppy. She was brought to this shelter where she was adopted out and then the women who adopted her lost her house or something and took her back to the shelter. Now she has found a nice permanent home with us! She has a great personality, is really sweet and loving. She is also house trained, knows how to sit and lay down (sometimes). We just love her!!

Here are the rules:
1. Link the person(s) who tagged you
2. Mention the rules on your blog
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them

1. I abosolutely cannot fall asleep if the closet door is open. I feel this compulsion to get up and close it. This is not so bad in our new house where the closet is super tiny and the door is usually closed to hide the mess of clothes and shoes that are piled in there. At our last apartment however we had three sliding doors into the walk-in closet and a bathroom door right off our room . All of them had to be closed in order for me to sleep. Oddly though it is okay if the bedroom door is open

2. I have this intense fear of buring the house down. I even have nightmares about it. When I leave the house I check to make sure everything (hair flat-iron, coffee maker, oven) is turned off. Sometimes I will do this .. go outside and then have to come back in to make sure i unplugged the hair iron.

3. I am really forgetfull. I put my keys down and 5 minutes later have no idea where they are. I will have money or something in my hand... put it in my purse or somewhere and then go "wait what did I do with _____.

4. I have the worst perception of space. I run into things all the time. I will turn a corner in my hosue and run into a wall. I wait tables and am continually running into tables. We got this new shelving at work where we keep our ranch dressing/blu cheese/celrey ect (I work at a hot wings place) and there is a shelf above the one we keep all that on now. It didn't used to be there. The first day they put it in i bumped my head on it 6 times.

5. I like to make up stories about people I see. This is especially fun at work where there is a constant influx of new people to invent things about. I somtimes do it for myself too.

6. Cleaning is relaxing for me. I love to do it, but only when its not my own hosue. When I was in high school my best friend Lianna was a total slob. I used to hang out at her house and clean her room for her, I also once cleaned my friend Alissa's room and her sisters house in fact. It's only a chore when its my own house, there I let it get to a certain point and then HAVE to clean it :P

Sadly enough the only person I know who blogs on here is Mykalee and she already did this!

One Whole Year!

I can't believe that it has been one entire year since Joel and I got married. Our one year wedding anniversary is on Monday the 18th of August. It has all gone by so fast. I feel like we just moved to Reno and here we are a year later.

On a side note Mykalee, I did enjoy Eclipse more than New Moon, I have just started Breaking Dawn and I love it. I officially cannot wait for the movie.

Love this series

I finished New Moon... on to Eclipse :) I finished my Organic Chem Class at 10:30 today and as a reward, awarded myself the rest of the day to be lazy and read. I love this series!

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Just what I need another book series to get into!

at least this one isn't 11 books like the last one I read!

So I just finished the book Twilight

Absolutely LOVED it. Now I have to go out and buy the rest of the series. At least I am reading it now when all the books are out so that I don't have to wait for the next one to be written. I am not good at that. (Usually I forget that a new one has come out and then don't even read it for months and months after it is released)

On other topics..
The reunion this year was great. It was so good to see all the family (wish everyone could have been able to come) We had a great time.

Summer school is almost done. My last day of class is thursday! Celebration! I will officially be done and never have to take another Organic Chemistry course again in my life (hopefully). At least I am getting an A this time around.

Joel is as usual busy with work :)

Just for Mykalee! Family Reunion 2008!
